We have always employed articled accounting students from various professional programs and are pleased to contribute to their development. The firm also participates in Camosun College's accounting co-op program and the University of Victoria's Commerce co-op program.
Although our staff turnover rates are very low, positions do come up from time to time, and we intend to post new positions on our website as well as through other mediums.
Articling Students
We offer a challenging environment that people enjoy working in. We also offer opportunities for personal growth and career advancement after becoming designated. Many of our partners and professional staff articled with the firm.
At Green Horwood & Co, our articling students are exposed to all aspects of public accounting, including financial statement audits. Our articling students handle entire year-end files, provide assurance services as a team member on larger engagements, prepare individual and corporate tax returns, trust returns and other services. We try to expose our articling students to the big picture, and provide ongoing mentoring and training to enable our students to succeed through CASB.
Our articling students are often selected after they complete a successful co-op workterm with our firm.

Technicians
We generally look for technicians with at least five years of Canadian public practice accounting experience. Our technicians need to be proficient with preparing CaseWare working papers and with using Taxprep (T1 and T2) and Quickbooks or Simply Accounting software. Technicians should have general knowledge about payroll and GST/HST.
Our technicians provide a range of services including computerized bookkeeping and accounting, financial statement preparation, personal and corporate income tax preparation and related advice.
